Came across this article today look at back movements, specifically lower back movements; not a deadlift though. Eirik Sandvik wrote this article about variations to "back raises" for all different level athletes.
I'm going to stop here and let you read it and see what you think, if you're into your training properly give some of them a try, I know I will be.
