I Can, I Will, I Must

It's been a while since I last posted anything. So here's a little something from Eric Thomas's Thank God It's Monday series. It's a great video about just keeping on going when things are hard, and the key is not to give up...ever.

Something else for you to think about. Who gets the "Monday blues"? Well I think hat the Monday blues are utter nonsense; why should the start of a new week be sad or annoying or irritating just because the weekend is over? The start of a new week is a great thing, the time to work towards goals, even set new goals and importantly; achieve your greatness.

Enjoy the video! I hope you take something away from it.

Inspiration beyond words

This is just outstanding:

Cerebral Palsy Weightlifting

Click the link, watch the video, be inspired.

Look at his will, his determination, his desire. Nothing will stop this guy from lifting. What's stopping you? What's your excuse? Why aren't you giving it everything?

This isn't motivation, this is inspiration. Think about it.

Thanks to spotmebro.com for sharing this.

Psychology is Physiology

This is an extremely interesting article about the power of the human mind. I would strongly recommend reading it and understanding it.

Some of you may already be familiar with the concept of placebo's; but the article takes it a step further and how it can be applied to strength training. Hit the link below and check it out.

Positivity and Motivation

Check this video out, Marc Lobliner talking about how he stays positive.

You know what, it's so simple, it really is. People complain all the time and they feel like shit, and for what? They have good lives. You got to think about what you have, a lot of people do not have what you have, so appreciate it. Live your life, don't wish for someone else life. Work hard to achieve your goals, but continue to appreciate what you have; a roof over your head, a car, food, clean water, clothes, iPhones, laptops etc, you see where I'm going.

Just watch the video.

Not sure of the best title for this post....but you should read it

This is probably one of the best, most relevant articles I have ever read. In essence it puts into words how I consider my own motivation for training.

You should definitely read this, hit the link below and read it and really understand it.

TEDTalks: Body Language

This is EPIC

Had to do that in a heading style to make it stand out.

I'm not sure what I can add to this, but the best thing probably would be to say is that it works extremely well. I've been doing similar stuff for a while, not on this scientific level, and oh my days it is effective. Not going to say anything else.

Hit the link below, watch the video and apply it straight away; motivation, confidence and enjoyment will become you.

Why Train?

This is very good article. The author is talking about why he trains; and it probably isn't what you're expecting. What he talks about is probably applicable to most us who do train.

Enough of that; hit the link below and give it a read.

Why I Train - Charles Staley

Enjoy!

p.s. Use this to really think about why you train, not why people generally train but why you train. What do you want to get out of it, what are your goals? See if you are really training for yourself and your goals or some random generic shit.

2013

I'm not gonna say the typical Happy New Year, hope it brings all your wishes and all that bullshit.

2013 will be what you make of it, nothing more nothing less. Go out and work hard for it.

So instead of wishing and praying, set some goals and go work towards them; whether it's to do with your career, personal life or training; get your head in gear and get on it. Life will not just give you everything, you have to work for it.

Life will get tough, it will beat you down, but you have to get up and keep going. Remember the tough times; they will make the good times feel even sweeter, you'll grow to appreciate all the shit that has happened as it'll make all the good things feel better and you'll realise the true meaning and benefits of hard work.

So what I'll say as a new year message is this:

"Have an epic year and make your life yours, not what someone else says it should be; go and achieve your desires and goals; work hard, train hard, and do not give up easily, keep trucking. Appreciate every moment; good or bad, it'll define who you are and what you will become."

I'll leave you with some closing quotes.

"So choose to not to be a product of your environment, but rather a product of your desires. While I can't promise you that it will be easy (it most certainly won't), I can promise you that it'll be worth it." -
Matt "Kroc" Kroczaleski

"What a man really has, is what is in him. What is outside of him should be a matter of no importance." -Oscar Wilde

"No citizen has a right to be an amateur in the matter of physical training... what a disgrace it is for a man to grow old without ever seeing the beauty and strength of which his body is capable." - Socrates.

"Never stop creating, moving forward, and kicking ass. Discard the negative and trust your heart." - Jim Wendler

"When you train, your body becomes taut and hard. And when you train hard, your mind must overcome the physical pain to overcome and move on." - Jim Wendler

Have and EPIC year and live your life.

I'd also like to say thanks to all the readers and followers of the blog and on twitter, I do this to help you and to see the page views going up tells me I'm doing something right and I'll keep on going with it.

"Happiness does not depend on the size or content of a goal, but on the strength of the desire to have it." -Simon Soloveychik

Remember, desire is key to your success; you have to REALLY WANT IT, not just kinda want it.
